About Secure Retrofitting
We are a company dedicated to doing seismic or earthquake retrofits to homes throughout the Puget Sound area. We secure your house so that it stays in place during an earthquake. Bolting the wooden structure down, adding shear panels and tying in the floor system are all part of this valuable service. Secure Retrofitting is experienced and knowledgeable about the retrofitting business.
Michael and Matthew Jackson are a father and son team which has been working in the seismic retrofit field for a number of years. They went through the FEMA/UW contractor training back in 2001. Matthew started out as a laborer and quickly moved up to working as a team lead, while also going to college in Bellingham. Michael did planning, permits and sales, but also spent a long time in basements and crawlspaces learning the trade. He went on to run one of the largest earthquake retrofitting companies in the Puget Sound area, until he left to start Secure Retrofitting Company LLC.
We believe that earthquake retrofitting is very necessary and important work and that it should continue, no matter what the economy does. So, we are committed to doing an excellent job of securing houses to their foundations at a reasonable cost.
